The Carnival of Colours
: Malaysia Malaysia
has a wonderful potpourri of different races comprising three
main group - Malays, Chinese and Indians besides the Portuguese,
Chitty, Singh and Orang Asli in Peninsular Malaysia, and numerous
indigenous groups such as the Ibans, Kadazans, Kenyahs, Bidayuhs
and Muruts in Sabah and Sarawak.
Culture and Heritage
are statements of our history...
they provide us with the sense of place and lifestyle of people
lived at a certain time.
The wonderful multi-racial character of Malaysia was achieved
through decades of developing a high degree of racial, cultural
and religious tolerence among all races. Each races are rich in
their cultures, customes and traditions. Festivals abound, and
events celebrations whether for the pure joy of art or to glorify
the gods, can be found throughout Malaysia. These elements had
make our country a land of festivals celebrated throughout the
year.
A city without old buildings
is like a man without memory. Furthermore, through preserving our
architectural heritage, we recognise and celebrate the achievements
of our nation and our people. Old buildings are mostly unique,
they express our character and give us an identity. Each heritage
building or landmark tell a story. They are unique and representative
or cultural traditions of their era. Without physical legacy and
sound traditional values, the country may one day became a robotic
fast-paced society whose only concerns are of the 'perceived achivements'.
As a kaleidoscope of people, places, cultural, festivals and events,
Malaysia are always welcome the world to experience firsthand's
beauty and charm of an exciting and diverse nation of Malaysia.
So, what are you waiting for!
